Lunarwildling was my old blog. I thought to honour that time of my life, and to kickstart this blog, I've copy some of my old posts to this blog. This one is from the Musings category.

it’s another time for a celebration. Our mothers. Mumma earth.

The ancestral warrior women who forged the path, so girls of the future can be a part of this world.

I’d like to first share a poem from the incredible Kahlil Gibran. When I first heard this poem (I watched a film inspired by the book The Prophet), my whole being replied with a “yes”. Whenever I see parents with their children I’m always reminded of this poem.

CHILDREN

Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,  which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

It’s also a good time to remind ourselves the mumma of all mothers: mother nature, mumma earth, great mother, pachamama, gaia, shakti.

She’s the divine that has been suppressed for hundreds, thousands of years. She’s Eve, mistakenly seen as the first to sin in the Bible. She’s Lilith, labelled as a dark goddess, all for wanting equal rights to Adam. She’s nature, constantly supporting us even when we continuously destroy her. She’s the equal half in our being; the femininity, the one who trusts, who surrenders, who nurtures. She’s the wild woman in all the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, the one who cannot be tamed, who is confident and aligned with her intuition.

Let’s continue to worship her, to honour her, to respect her, and let that be reflected in the way we treat our mothers and other women in our society. Let us all support one another in times of darkness and difficulty, and celebrate with one another in moments of growth and achievements.

This is for the sacred feminine.

May you rise within us all, and continue to help us while experiencing this thing called humanity.

Peace and Love
