OFF SOCIAL MEDIA

what do you mean "off social media"?

What do you mean "off social media"?

When I say "off" social media, I mean both temporarily or permanently. You may feel intrigued about deleting all your social media accounts, or you may feel more comfortable with taking the occasional break here and there.

Currently, as of Dec 2020, I am exploring deleting the social media pages I have accounts for: Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, Quora. You may be reading this in 2021 and I may already have done this. Or I may find a way to use it as a tool and decide to stay on, setting the intention of changing my habits and the way I use it.

there are blog posts below sharing my own journey with exploring my relationship with social media and digital tech use.

This page is a directory of information I have discovered around current topics and issues with social media and dependency on technology in today's world. Please keep in mind that this is my own experience and journey with these topics, and it's completely understandable if you have a completely different experience.

This is an invitation to see social media in a different light, but you are most welcome to discard anything you don't currently resonate with.

I also invite you to absorb the information with mindfulness and intention; take care of your posture while on the computer, observe your breathing, and if you begin to feel physically or emotionally off, take a break or put down screen use for a little while.

Such an insightful podcast touching on topics such as "the arms race for human attention, the ethics of persuasion, the consequences of having an ad-based economy, the dynamics of regret". The episode just touches in these topics, and yet I learn so much.
